Hi All,
After a check of the forum postings i cannot see any reference to these Chinese offerings.......... so I venture to start the topic.
Has anyone actually seen one of these JHL images painted in China?
I have seen a photo of one on trademe there was a photo of a Bouguereau, done in China, which had a glaring lack of detail - not to mention the ghastly shape of the face they considered was a copy of the original. I was shown another one in person by a customer and that image had geat 3D oil paint effect and passable detail to the original - a Van Gogh. So it seems they paint very cheaply by broadly outlining a bland 'copy' quickly with little regard to the original artists eye and time given to the detail - which is what made the image meritorious in the beginning.
It is extremely difficult to get a photograph of a Chinese oil copy, indeed all the advertising they do uses photo's other people have taken of true originals and posted somewhere on the net. Perhaps they make and export cameras but don't keep any to use!
It seems that China must allow advertising using incorrect images - purporting them to be the ones for sale! This is a blatant fraud. The audacity is amazing, they must think the buying public are sufficiently gullible as to be duped by blatant dishonesty.
cheers Ken :-)
