These 'paper' prints keep poping up. I dont tend to have anything to do with Lynch or Shabner prints that arnt on board. I just dont trust them.

Well, I haven't been able to get hold of one of these, but to me the story sounds believable that those are leftovers from the original printers like Robinson's. What I am still waiting for is the first "original" to appear - aka a real oil painting. In China they have very skilled painters that can copy any painting.

I have a very good artist who does work for me. It takes him a while to get things done (like six months) I'm going to get him to copy a Lynch and a Shabner. I'll Email you the result.

Regarding the batch of Lynch prints that have recently appeared on ebay, which were said to have originated from ROBINSONS in Bristol, having purchased a number of these prints, and having assesed them alongside other original prints from other sorces I must say they seem to be genuine. I can only comment on the batch (I believe all now sold) which included jh Lynch prints that we were not even aware off ie, the Annecy scene. The only downside to my puchases was the rarest(I believe, where would you ever find another) The tina in green dress in its original double printing which I bought for just over £70 was damaged beyond repair in the post..Having already owned a copy of the print in my opinion this and the other half dozen prints I purchased were the genuine articles...

Oh no that sounds terrible! Was it that the seller didn't package it properly or was it the delivery truck that had a car crash?
BTW - Is there any chance that you could provide me with good quality scans or photos of some of the rarer prints? If you browse the gallery you can see that from some paintings I've only got pretty bad pictures.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Steve, If any more turn up I'll have a bid..

sorry if I missled you the only rare one I owned was the double print of tina in green dress, the robinson prints I purchased were a couple of prints of Tanya, The Nymph, Ladonnachella, Lalinda and the double print of tina in green dress apart from the last I wouldnt say any of them were rare. I missed out on the rarer ones Anneacy, also the refugee along with the two recent unframed ones. I did email the guy in the states who was recently selling the three framed prints you have in your gallery, I suspected they looked more like shabley than lynch. he told me they were not signed but had labels on the back with the titles and by j h lynch. how would you source them as by lynch? as most seem to have his distinctive signature on them. as for the damaged tina print I can only say it was a combination of poor packaging and and a postman who dosnt understand the word FRAGILE. I do still have the damaged print and could provide pics if they are of any intrest to anybody....

The Refugee was available as a print for sale? When was that? Looks like I missed that one. I didn't know that prints of these exist. Do you still have the ebay link to that one?

Now that's interesting - especially as that print is not 100% identical to the original (which you find in the gallery) - it is very very similar, but for example her shoulder looks a bit different and also her glance.

The dimentions are different aswell the seller says it was framed and sold by boots but isnt signed by J H Lynch as the original clearly is, maybe boots got another artist to do a copy of lynchs origanal if its not signed then it isnt classed as a fake but as a copy which is perfectly legal the seller also states he has another copy aswell. Mr Lynch certainly carries an air of mystery, when it was on ebay there wasnt much intrest in it at all I had to go out on the evening it finised so left a bid only to be pipped at the post by the winning bidder. I wasnt aware there were diferences between this and the one on your site thanks Steve
